CHATFIELD FARMS TO SPONSOR TOY DRIVE FOR YALE-NEW HAVEN CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL'S
TOY CLOSETS PROGRAM
The Chatfield Farms community will be sponsoring a year long toy drive for the Toy Closets Program of Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, kicking off with $1,000 worth of toys donated by Chatfield Farms’ developer Wyndham Homes, Inc. at the Grand Opening of The Fieldstone Club on Sunday, September 13, 2009.
Throughout the next year, Chatfield Farms will be accepting donations of new, age appropriate and educational toys and gifts for pediatric patients at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Founded more than a decade ago by Ann Nyberg, News Channel 8 anchorwoman, the Toy Closets program provides toys to pediatric patients on birthdays, holidays, before end-of-treatment celebrations and upon discharge from the hospital. A project of Yale New Haven Hospital Auxillary, the Toy Closets program also supports recreational and therapeutic activities for patients at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.

About the Program:
- All of the toys that are donated to the program are used to fill the Toy Closets located in each of the pediatric units at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
- The Toy Closets are stocked with developmentally-appropriate gifts for all children in the pediatric units ranging from infants to adolescents.
- The Toy Closets program also supports other child-focused recreational and therapeutic activities guided by child life specialists, pediatric nurses, social workers and medical staff.
