Wyndham Homes Recognized For Exceptional Design Innovation and Overall Excellence

BEACON FALLS, CT—Wyndham Homes’ extraordinary 55+ community, Chatfield Farms, has been turning heads since it opened in 2007. The Beacon Falls-based neighborhood has been recognized with six HOBI (Home Building Industry) Awards by the Home Builders Association of Connecticut. The HOBI Awards recognize high quality homes, products and services in the Connecticut residential construction industry.

Chatfield Farms was recognized as the "Best Detached 55+ Community", and two of its models – the Brookfield and the Cambridge – were named "Best New Haven County Detached 55+ Home Under 2,000 s.f." and "Best Detached 55+ Home Overall", respectively. Commented Mr. Metcalfe, "We took the best features of a traditional maintenance-free, amenity-rich active adult community and added our semi-custom home design capabilities so you can truly make your home your own."

All of the homes at Chatfield Farms come standard with volume ceilings, two-car garages, full basements and main floor master bedrooms. The Brookfield model, with 1,904 to 2,701 sq. ft. of living space, features a spacious formal dining room, a convenient walk-in pantry, and a master suite with his & her closets. It also offers a variety of design options for the kitchen and master bath, and options for a guest loft on the upper level and a game room on the finished lower level.

The system is designed to give homebuyers the freedom to customize their homes, allowing them to select a floor plan that best fits their needs, then pick a kitchen and bathroom layout, and after that add in options like a sunroom or screened porch. The 2008 HOBI Awards will be held Nov. 4, 2008 at the Aqua Turf Country Club in Southington, Connecticut. The gala showcases the best products and services offered by members in categories ranging from new home construction and land development, to remodeling and commercial construction, to sales and marketing and financing. Winners will be featured in Connecticut Builder magazine.

Chatfield Farms is also among the finalists for three awards from the New England 50+ Council: "Best Overall Community"; "Best Home Design for Home Size 1,400 to 2,200 s.f. - The Brookfield model"; and "Active Adult Housing - Large Clubhouse "On The Boards". The 2008 Best of 50+ New England Housing Awards recognize excellence in design and marketing for the 50+ housing industry. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on October 22nd at The Doubletree Boston-Westborough  in Westborough, Massachusetts.
